The Seminole Warhawks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 54-41 win over Sebring.
When it comes to explaining why Sebring lost, one person who can't be blamed is KJ Turner. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That was a full 46.3% of Sebring's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Sylvester Lewis was another key contributor, scoring three points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Seminole is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Sebring, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seminole on the road again on Monday and play against Northeast at 8:00 p.m. on January 29th. Northeast is on a four-game streak of home wins, Seminole a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Sebring, they will head out on the road to challenge Kathleen at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Kathleen is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
