After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Putnam County, the Dwight Trojans were happy to have found some success on Monday. They blew past Henry-Senachwine/Lowpoint-Washburn 58-34. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Dwight considering their 22-point performance the matchup before.
Dwight found their leader in underclassman Ryan Bean, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Chambers, who scored 11 points.
Dwight's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6. As for Henry-Senachwine/Lowpoint-Washburn, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Dwight will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Point at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Tri-Point is ranked 489th, while Dwight is ranked 513th). Henry-Senachwine/Lowpoint-Washburn will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Seneca at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
