The Fountain Valley Barons fell victim to the Brentwood School Eagles''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were the victim of a rough 20-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles. Fountain Valley just can't catch a break and has now endured six defeats in a row.
It was another big night for Boone Lourd, who rushed for 127 yards on only six carries, and also threw for 92 yards and two touchdowns. Lourd was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards. Dylan Karz also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Fountain Valley's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.4 points per game. As for Brentwood School, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Fountain Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brentwood School will head out on the road to face off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Highland is ranked 253rd, while Brentwood School is ranked 231st).
