There's no place like home for the Alcovy Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Forest Park by a score of 60-47 on Tuesday. Given Alcovy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Forest Park is ranked 500th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nick Durham was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds. Durham is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 20 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Jernigan, who scored 12 points along with five assists and four steals.
Alcovy's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Forest Park, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21.
Alcovy will square off against Woodward Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Woodward Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Forest Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
