Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Northeast Lauderdale's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Northeast Lauderdale won the last time they faced South Jones, and Kelsie Ephrim did her part to make sure it happened again. The Northeast Lauderdale Trojans came out on top against the South Jones Braves by a score of 56-49 on Friday thanks in part to Ephrim, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 boards. Ephrim is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Northeast Lauderdale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for South Jones, their defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeast Lauderdale will venture away from home to face off against Kemper County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Jones, they are taking a road trip to challenge Bay Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bay Springs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something South Jones surely won't give up without a fight.
