The Howardsville Christian Eagles were the 42-40 winner over the Lawrence Tigers when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Howardsville Christian took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lawrence on Monday.
Carolina Mancera was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds for Lawrence. Mancera is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Remelts, who scored 12 points.
Howardsville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Lawrence, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Howardsville Christian will take on Michigan Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Michigan Lutheran is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Lawrence, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Comstock at 4:30 p.m. on January 30th. Comstock has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
