Basketball Recap: Austin Senters Key Part of a Team Effort in Storm Win

Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes lost to North Central Texas Academy back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Storm came out on top against the North Central Texas Academy Pioneers by a score of 72-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Storm.

Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Austin Senters led the charge by going 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points. The dominant performance also gave Senters a new career-high in assists (two). Zeke Amir was another key player, going 6 of 9 en route to 14 points.

Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why North Central Texas Academy lost, don't look at Kyrylo Nykyforenko. Despite the final result, he made all 10 shots he took for 24 points.

Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for North Central Texas Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 22-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for North Central Texas Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something North Central Texas Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
