Baseball Recap: Dow Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Dow waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Midland Chemics. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 4-2 victory on Monday.

Keegan Malley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Dow's victory bumped their record up to 24-5-1. As for Midland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 15 of their last 19 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dow will take on Dexter at 4:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Midland, they will challenge Swan Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
