The East Liverpool Potters took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They blew past Toronto, posting a 67-26 win at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as East Liverpool also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2021.
East Liverpool was led to victory by Kenzie Headley and Kenzie Walker. Headley scored 16 points along with 5 steals, while Walker scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Edwards, who scored 8 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals.
Loss or not, Toronto got some senior leadership from Callie Anderson who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 14 rebounds and Ashton Thomas who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 blocks.
East Liverpool's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Toronto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Liverpool will square off against Southern at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Toronto, they will head out on the road to face off against Wellsville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
