The Eureka Wildcats lost a heartbreaker to the Lindbergh Flyers when they met last February, and they left with a heavy heart again this past Friday. Eureka was just a bucket short of a win and fell 44-43 to Lindbergh. What made the defeat an especially bitter pill for the Wildcats to swallow was that they had been favored by 10 points coming into the game.
This is the second loss in a row for Eureka and nudges their record down to 17-7. The victory bumped Lindbergh's record up to 8-15.
Eureka is staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Northwest. Northwest also suffered a recent loss, falling 66-47 to Pacific last Wednesday. As for the Flyers, they will face off against Union on Tuesday. Lindbergh won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
