Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hanover-Horton). They put the hurt on the Vandercook Lake Jayhawks with a sharp 17-2 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Jayhawks: they've now won six in a row.

Hanover-Horton got a massive performance out of Luke Soper, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Jack Wooster was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and two runs.

Hanover-Horton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .719. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hanover-Horton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Vandercook Lake, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
