BASIS - Scottsdale has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Skyline Prep Bengals at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (BASIS - Scottsdale is ranked 208th, while Skyline Prep is ranked 197th).
BASIS - Scottsdale scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down AZ Compass Prep 60-43. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win BASIS - Scottsdale has managed all season.
BASIS - Scottsdale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Tropper, who scored 18 points along with six steals. Tropper is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaryan Dwvedi, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Skyline Prep's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their eighth straight loss. They lost to AZ Compass Prep National on the road by a decisive 74-57 margin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
BASIS - Scottsdale's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Skyline Prep, they bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.
BASIS - Scottsdale strolled past Skyline Prep in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 by a score of 54-39. Will BASIS - Scottsdale repeat their success, or does Skyline Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
