Everything went their way against South Charlotte T as Charlotte Christian made off with a 58-34 win. Charlotte Christian's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
Charlotte Christian found their leader in underclassman Kendal Beekman, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beekman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Fair, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
South Charlotte T's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Emma Reeves, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, and Bella Aitchison who scored nine points along with five assists.
Charlotte Christian's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10. As for South Charlotte T, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charlotte Christian's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Charlotte Country Day School at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Charlotte Country Day School presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Charlotte Christian in North Carolina (Charlotte Country Day School is ranked 84th, while Charlotte Christian is ranked 294th). As for South Charlotte T, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grace Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
