Deposit-Hancock and Harpursville are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. Deposit-Hancock will head out on the road to face off against the Harpursville Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Deposit-Hancock is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Deposit-Hancock took a serious blow against Sidney, falling 84-25. While losing is never fun, Deposit-Hancock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 678th, while Sidney is ranked 185th).
Meanwhile, Harpursville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Franklin Central by a score of 36-34.
Deposit-Hancock's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Harpursville, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Deposit-Hancock came up short against Harpursville in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 44-39. Can Deposit-Hancock avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
