The Lapel Bulldogs will head out to take on the Winchester Community Golden Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lapel will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Lapel proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 28) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Eastern Hancock 21-20. Those 21 points were actually the fewest the Bulldogs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lapel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaxon Cripe, who picked up 108 receiving yards and three touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Cripe has posted since back in October of 2024. Devin Craig was another key player, having thrown for 259 yards and three touchdowns.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Lapel proved: they limited Eastern Hancock to a paltry 2.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Isaiah Young for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Lapel; they were averaging 6yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three games they've fallen to only 4.6 per game.
Lapel didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Reed Hamilton and Quade Hall. Hamilton has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last seven times he's played. Another thorn in Eastern Hancock's side was Young, who picked up a sack and made 17 total tackles.
Meanwhile, Winchester Community blew past Union City, posting a 61-28 victory. The Golden Falcons haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Lapel better keep an eye on Aidan Weatherhead. He was instrumental in Winchester Community's win, rushing for 119 yards and four TDs on only 14 carries, while also picking up 43 receiving yards and one score. Weatherhead also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble, making four total tackles, and defending one pass. Caleb Hummel also helped out as he racked up 112 rushing yards.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Winchester Community, racking up 19 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Weatherhead, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Lapel's record now sits at 9-0. As for Winchester Community, their record is now 8-1.
Everything came up roses for Lapel against Winchester Community in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, as the team secured a 49-19 victory. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Golden Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
