With a playoff game on the line, the Jurupa Hills Spartans rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 21-14. The win was nothing new for Jurupa Hills as they're now sitting on four straight.
Jurupa Hills had a senior duo take command as Jordan Pernillo rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown and Damien Ortiz rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Although Charter Oak took the loss, they still got scores from Curtiss Taylor and Diego Flores.
Jurupa Hills is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Charter Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Jurupa Hills will play host again and welcome Torres, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Torres is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. Charter Oak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
