It was a good run, but the Parkview Christian Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 42-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Nebraska Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Parkview Christian has scored all season.
Parkview Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jada Smith, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds, and Merryl Paul who scored nine points. Paul scored a full 29% of Parkview Christian's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Parkview Christian's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-1. As for Nebraska Christian, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkview Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Lewiston on Monday. Lewiston comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Nebraska Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sutton at 2:00 p.m. on December 16th. Sutton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Nebraska Christian in Nebraska (Sutton is ranked 26th, while Nebraska Christian is ranked 177th).
