Basketball Recap: Pine Hills Adventist Takes a Loss

Pine Hills Adventist managed to keep up with Sacramento Country Day until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Pine Hills Adventist Eagles lost 71-50 to the Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Pine Hills Adventist still got an impressive performance from Brennan Reese, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. Reese is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Tyler Gatling was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Sacramento Country Day's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Scripps, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave Scripps a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Aiden Anguiano, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points and three steals.

Pine Hills Adventist's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sacramento Country Day, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
