Softball Recap: Meridian Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Meridian proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Frankenmuth Eagles 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since April 19th.

Meridian pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Frankenmuth, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will host Shepherd at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bluejays have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Frankenmuth, they will be playing at home against Freeland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
