Charlie Walker was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Walker was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Walker wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jude Dardeau, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Jonas Maxfield was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
