Ben Lomond is 0-10 against Grantsville since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Scots will face off against the Cowboys at 3:30 p.m. Ben Lomond has given up an average of 23.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Ben Lomond is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They lost 26-2 to Morgan.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grantsville). They put the hurt on Union with a sharp 21-1 win on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Cowboys sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Gracie Holm made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eden Ressel, who fired off three home runs, eight RBI, and one stolen base while going 4-for-6. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise Smith, who scored four runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
Grantsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive games.
Grantsville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Ben Lomond, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Ben Lomond might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Grantsville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Scots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
