The Central A & M Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central A & M is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Central A & M didn't have quite enough to beat Tuscola and fell 3-2. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gwyn Hardimon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Central A & M saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Roe, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Roe has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.
Meanwhile, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond got the win against Okaw Valley on Tuesday by a conclusive 19-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.
LAYLA DEEL was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. DEEL was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, MACKENZIE CONDILL was incredible, firing off two home runs, nine RBI, and five runs while going 5-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. SOPHIA MONTS was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Central A & M's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, their record now sits at 11-13.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Central A & M hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Central A & M couldn't quite get it done against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
