The Taylor Wildcats will square off against the Trinity Catholic Celtics at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Taylor is coming into the  contest hot, having won their last four games.
Taylor is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Tuesday. They skirted past Umatilla  7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Wildcats have posted  since March 6th.

  Lacey Price and  Amya Ramos did most of the damage at the plate:  Price  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and two  RBI, while  Ramos  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs and one  double. Those  two  doubles gave  Price a new career-high.  Caydence Hassell was another key player,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run.
Meanwhile, Trinity Catholic got themselves on the board against Crescent City on Tuesday, but Crescent City never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp  16-0 victory. The Celtics might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six  runs or more this season.
 Liliana Ornelas made a splash no matter where she played. She  struck out nine batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with one  home run.
 In other batting news,  Lourdes Ornelas was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and two  runs.  Casey Houghtaling also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Trinity Catholic  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crescent City only posted  an  OBP of  .182.
 Trinity Catholic has  been performing  well recently as they've  won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Taylor, their record now sits at 15-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging  on Wednesday. Taylor hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 0.9  home runs per game. However, it's not like Trinity Catholic struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 0.6  home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
 Taylor couldn't quite finish off Trinity Catholic in their previous matchup  on April 3rd and fell  8-6. Can the Wildcats avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
