Roane County is a perfect 3-0 against Poca since April of 2025 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Raiders will take on the Dots at 6:00 p.m.
Roane County fell victim to Buffalo and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Bison, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, while Poca put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Midland Trail. The Dots blew past the Patriots 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Dots, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Jackson McClanahan made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Poca let Cooper Jones and Nate Christian run wild. Jones went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Christian went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Landon Bee, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Poca always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Midland Trail only posted an OBP of .125.
The victory made it two in a row for Poca and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Roane County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Roane County got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Poca by a conclusive 16-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
