Basketball Recap: LEE's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

LEE was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brandeis Broncos. The Volunteers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

LEE's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rosanelly Pastrano, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds. The game was Pastrano's 19th in a row with at least ten points. Sophia Alvarez was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Mia Ramos continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brandeis, going 13 of 24 on her way to 32 points along with five boards and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Ramos has scored at least a third of Brandeis' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daryn Thienpont, who posted seven points and 16 rebounds.

LEE's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-7. As for Brandeis, their record is now 9-15.

LEE will host SA Roosevelt at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Brandeis, they will head out to face off against Churchill at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Churchill will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Brandeis surely won't give up without a fight.
