It was a good run, but Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Annandale Cardinals by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in August.

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted took Annandale into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-20, 25-18, 23-25, 15-13.

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Annandale, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted will challenge Spectrum at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Annandale, after both having extra time off, they and Eden Valley-Watkins will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
