New Plymouth won against North Star last Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. New Plymouth came out on top against the Weiser Wolverines by a score of 9-6. The victory was nothing new for the Pilgrims as they're now sitting on three straight.
Payton Zigga made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting no hits from his four at bats. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashton Robinson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cooper Shaw, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
New Plymouth now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Weiser, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
