Jaylen Washington made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, DaTrell Evans was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025. Jamarion Chatman was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Jackson-Olin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carver Montgomery). They blew past Selma 24-7 on Monday. Considering the Wolverines have won six games by more than ten runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Jaron Williams, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Carver Montgomery is 2-1 when Williams posts three or more RBI, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Reese, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
The victory got Carver Montgomery back to even at 7-7. As for Jackson-Olin, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
