The South Pontotoc Cougars will be playing at home against the Byhalia Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After soaring to 35 points the game before, South Pontotoc were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were dealt a 53-3 loss at the hands of New Albany. South Pontotoc was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-3.
Meanwhile, Byhalia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They suffered a tough 35-12 loss at the hands of North Pontotoc.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ashton Franklin, who rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Another player making a difference was Lance Williams, who rushed for 122 yards on only nine carries.
South Pontotoc has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Byhalia, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
