Laton is 0-10 against Kings Christian since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Laton Mustangs will be playing at home against the Kings Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Laton beat Legacy Christian Academy 46-35. The victory was just what Laton needed coming off of a 61-36 loss in their prior match.
Laton can attribute much of their success to Jaythan Garcia, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Johnathan Garcia, who scored ten points along with nine assists and seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Garcia posted eight or more assists. Mario Chavez was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Kings Christian put the finishing touches on their 16th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Wonderful College Prep Academy, posting a 78-41 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Kings Christian has posted since December 8, 2023.
Laton's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Kings Christian, their win was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2.
Laton was taken down by Kings Christian 65-24 in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kings Christian's Ronnie Roche, who scored 27 points along with four steals. Now that Laton knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
