After three games on the road, Alexander is heading back home. They will take on the Vinton County Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Alexander scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Wellston 63-34 on the road. The victory was just what Alexander needed coming off of a 58-33 defeat in their prior match.
Alexander's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaylee Hudnall led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 12 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists. That's the first time this season that Hudnall posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Lily Ryder, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Vinton County can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They walked away with a 32-25 win over Zane Trace. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Vinton County has scored all year.
Alexander's victory ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Vinton County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
