After flying high against the Winona Tigers on Friday, the Grenada Chargers came back down to earth. Grenada was dealt a 69-40 loss at the hands of Olive Branch on Monday. Grenada lost against Olive Branch in their previous head to head back in December of 2016, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 90-45 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Grenada lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lauren Harges. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with six rebounds. The game was Harges' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Madison Woodard, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Grenada's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Olive Branch, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.
Grenada will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Cormorant at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Olive Branch will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Biloxi at 10:05 a.m. on January 6, 2024.
