Great Bridge has gone 9-1 against Deep Creek recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Hornets at 5:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Great Bridge has five straight victories, Deep Creek has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Great Bridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand King's Fork a 24-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Wildcats have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jason Miller looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Great Bridge got a massive performance out of Ryder Harrell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Harrell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Casey Cuddyer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Great Bridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .696. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Deep Creek's offense. They lost 6-0 to Grassfield on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Hornets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Great Bridge pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Deep Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
Deep Creek's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Great Bridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Deep Creek, though, as they've only averaged .144. Will they be able to contain Great Bridge's hitters?
Great Bridge took their win against Deep Creek in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
