Basketball Recap: Suncoast Skates Past West Boca Raton with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Suncoast). They blew past the West Boca Raton Bulls, posting a 76-25 victory. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Bulls are ranked 388th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Suncoast's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trejor Street led the charge by going 9 for 12 on her way to 19 points. Street is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Nekeria Sutton was another key player, going 7 for 11 on her way to 19 points.

West Boca Raton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Krefsky, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Morgan, who had seven points.

Suncoast's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for West Boca Raton, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Suncoast didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-29 victory against Santaluces on the 4th. As for West Boca Raton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 87-37 loss against Pine Crest on the 4th.
