Chaminade has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Warren Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Chaminade walked away with it. They took down Villa Park 30-16 on Friday.
Chaminade's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Seth Shigg, who threw for 202 yards and a touchdown on only 19 passes. Logan Carpenter did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 113 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Warren entered their tilt with Oak Hills with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Warren beat Oak Hills on Friday by the very same score they won with last week: 34-33. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Kelton Strickland and Madden Iamaleava were among the main playmakers for Warren as the former rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.3 yards per carry and the latter threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt. Iamaleava has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last six times he's played.
Chaminade's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Warren, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 10-2 record.
