Vestaburg found their leader in underclassman Lily Johnston, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Johnston has scored at least a third of Vestaburg's points. Ashlyn Mortensen was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Calvary Baptist Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Vestaburg, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Calvary Baptist Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tawas Area is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Vestaburg, they will head out on the road to take on the Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sacred Heart Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
