If the Ocosta Wildcats were feeling good off their 52-19 takedown of Non Varsity Opponent last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Ocosta was the victim of a rough 70-47 defeat at the hands of Ilwaco on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Ocosta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Ilwaco is ranked 107th).
Alexia Bradley and Anna Davis certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Bradley dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Davis dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Davis is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Ocosta's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Ilwaco, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Ocosta will head out on the road to face off against Forks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ilwaco, they will be playing at home against Chief Leschi at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chief Leschi will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
