Jorge Alanis was his usual excellent self, rushing for 170 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Alanis hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Jaime Lopez was another key contributor, throwing for 232 yards and two touchdowns.
Although Edinburg took the loss, they still got scores from Jude Vega and Bryan Galindo.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.8 points per game. As for Edinburg, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo will be playing in front of their home fans against Los Fresnos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Robert Pineda and Lopez. As for Edinburg, they will face off against Harlingen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harlingen presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Edinburg in Texas (Harlingen is ranked 411th, while Edinburg is ranked 828th).
