The Desert Christian Academy Conquerors entered their tilt with the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Desert Christian Academy strolled past Santa Rosa Academy with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 74-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Augustine Youssef was his usual excellent self, scoring 42 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Herling, who almost dropped a triple-double on ten points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists.
Despite the defeat, Santa Rosa Academy had strong showings from Mycah Mason, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Chris Jones, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Mason scored 15 or more points. Kyzer Metz was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Desert Christian Academy pushed their record up to 18-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Santa Rosa Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-14.
Desert Christian Academy will be playing at home against Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Nuview Bridge at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
