Lincoln Charter has won five straight games at home, while Christ the King has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Eagles will host the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. Lincoln Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
Lincoln Charter saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They fell just short of Charlotte Country Day School by a score of 5-4.
Lincoln Charter saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Canton Bare, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Another was Danny Okoniewski, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Christ the King got themselves on the board against Corvian Community on Wednesday, but Corvian Community never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Crusaders have beaten the Cardinals the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cardinals has come to flipping the script.
Owen Shipman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Christ the King is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise. Shipman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Christ the King got a big performance out of James Phillips, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Cowen Harris was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run.
Christ the King's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Lincoln Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 17-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Lincoln Charter hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Christ the King struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
