The Greeneville Greene Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Volunteer Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greeneville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.
Last Friday, Greeneville earned a 59-50 win over Grainger. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Greene Devils.

Greeneville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Abby Adkins out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Adkins is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maria Lyde, who went 6 for 8 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds.
Greeneville was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Volunteer lost to Gate City on the road by a 47-28 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 240th in Tennessee, while the Blue Devils are ranked 71st in Virginia).
Greeneville will have to keep a close watch on Scarlett McClaran and Elisabeth Byington, a pair of players who had a big impact on Volunteer's prior game. McClaran posted 12 points and three steals, while Byington scored four points and seven boards. McClaran continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.
Volunteer dropped their record down to 10-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Greeneville, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Greeneville has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 33.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Volunteer struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Greeneville came up short against Volunteer in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 48-39. Can Greeneville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
