Given Dallas Jesuit's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Irving is ranked 771st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, MacArthur had to suffer through a rough 75-47 loss at the hands of Richardson. MacArthur has struggled against Richardson recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, MacArthur saw an underclassman step up: Jakyran Madden scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Patrick Daniels, who scored seven points.
Dallas Jesuit has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for MacArthur, they bumped their record down to 2-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
