Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for DME Academy

DME Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the TNXL Academy Ducks with a sharp 15-2 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 9-3 victory on Monday.

Jason Bruce made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Bruce was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shiloh Gallimore, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reito Matsuba, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

DME Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

DME Academy's record is now 5-1. As for TNXL Academy, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, DME Academy will head out on the road to face off against Umatilla at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. TNXL Academy will be paying especially close attention to the -'s game: after the - face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on TNXL Academy again at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
