Smithfield and Grafton are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Smithfield Packers will head out on the road to take on the Grafton Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Smithfield is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 17-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Smithfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 44-37 win over York. The victory was just what Smithfield needed coming off of a 72-6 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Grafton came up short against Jamestown on Thursday and fell 49-36.
Smithfield's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-16. As for Grafton, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-4.
Smithfield took a serious blow against Grafton in their previous meeting back in January, falling 79-25. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Grafton's Taylor Ragland, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 13 rebounds. Now that Smithfield knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
