The Twiggs County Cobras lost against the Johnson County Trojans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Twiggs County was outmatched by Johnson County at home and fell 57-17. Twiggs County has not had much luck with Johnson County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Jamiyah Glover was Twiggs County's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Shafrasia Young held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Johnson County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ziyah Lewis, who scored eight points along with nine steals. Lewis hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of S'Riyah Bostick, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Twiggs County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Johnson County, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Twiggs County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hancock Central at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully Twiggs County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday. As for Johnson County, they will be playing at home against Metter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Johnson County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
