St. Joseph Academy waltzed into their contest  on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Union County Fightin' Tigers by a score of  6-3. This was payback for the Flashes, who suffered  an  8-3  loss the last time these two teams met.
 Cullen Garner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. Garner was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles. Those  two  doubles gave  him a new career-high.
 Garner wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Sean Miskowiec, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI.  Camden Biskup was another,  going 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.
St. Joseph Academy pushed their record up to 13-1-1 with the  win, which was their sixth straight  on the road. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.2 runs over those games.  St. Joseph Academy will host Creekside  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Union County, they will take on Cardinal Newman at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. The last three games Cardinal Newman has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
