There's no place like home for The Firebaugh Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road  last Friday. They won a  contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Mendota 22-21. This was payback for Firebaugh, who suffered a  28-21  loss the last time these two teams met.
 Firebaugh's win  on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Ryan Luna, who rushed for 36 yards and  a touchdown, and also picked up 35 receiving yards.  Isaac Ceja was another key contributor, throwing for 146 yards and  a touchdown.
 Mendota's lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Ryan Preciado, who threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes, and also punched in  a rushing scores. Another player making a difference was  Jayden Silva, who picked up 103 receiving yards and  a touchdown.
 Firebaugh is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Mendota, their defeat was  their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6.
 Firebaugh will  face off against Liberty at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Mendota, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Foothill at 7:00  p.m.
