The ACERO Garcia Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by DuSable on the road and fell 51-10. ACERO Garcia was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as DuSable apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Jayniha Jones was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Damaya Plant, who scored 11 points.
ACERO Garcia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for DuSable, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ACERO Garcia will challenge Harlan at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harlan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. DuSable won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kennedy at 5:00 p.m. on December 5th. Kennedy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
