Softball Recap: Bunker Hill Wins Going Away Against St. Stephens

Bunker Hill had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt St. Stephens on Friday. The Bunker Hill Bears blew past the St. Stephens Indians 10-3. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Serena Thurman made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Thurman was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Alexis Stuebe was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Bunker Hill's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bunker Hill will square off against Eastern Alamance at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Stephens, they will face off against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
