Century and Owatonna are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Century Panthers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Owatonna Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Century has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Last Friday, Century was fully in charge, breezing past Albert Lea 74-28 on the road. That 46 point margin sets a new team best for Century this season.
Meanwhile, Owatonna was able to grind out a solid win over Mankato East on Friday, taking the game 57-45.
Carsyn Brady and Ava Olson were among the main playmakers for Owatonna as the former dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds and the latter scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Brady has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maryn Pool, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Century's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Owatonna, they pushed their record up to 12-11 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Century beat Owatonna 56-46 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Will Century repeat their success, or does Owatonna have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
